Happy Imbolc magical babies! This Sabbat marks the revival of the Goddess after giving birth to the God. The God is just a young child during this time, whose development is fortified with the lengthening of the days. We see the beginning of Spring, when plants and trees germinate and early flowers start to bloom. This is a great time to start planting seeds for the months to come, mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
This is a time for spring cleaning and organizing. Principles of feng shui tell us how important it is to remove clutter from our lives. Clearing out the old to welcome in the new is a common energetic practice, and Imbolc is a great time to rid yourself of anything that’s no longer serving you. That means situations and relationships too! Clean out the closet and donate some items to charity, leave the job you hate, break up with the man who keeps breaking your heart, or ditch that friend that’s not really a friend.
For those with a green thumb, this is also a great time to start planning out what you’d like to plant this spring. Having plants in your home purifies the air, which can result in less fatigue and anxiety, sharper focus and less risk of coughs, colds and sore throats. You can also plant your own herbs, which possess a variety of health benefits.
This month we will be talking a lot about the importance of self-care, and this time between the winter and spring solstice is an important time to reflect, recharge and rejuvenate. The energy leading up to the Super Blue Blood Moon left many of us feeling drained, stressed, fatigued and overwhelmed, but now this radiant full moon energy gives us the chance the start anew. Use this time of balance and power to manifest what you’ve been longing for. You are more powerful than you know!
